Packing for long trips makes me happy.
Why? I like planning things. Like seriously, I already know exactly what I want to wear to this Lady Gaga concert I'm going to even though it's a little less then eleven MONTHS away from now. What can I say, I'm quite odd. Anyways, back to the packing thing... I'm flying to Pittsburgh tomorrow, as I'm sure you already know if you've been reading my blog or you're one of my besties. I love picking clothes to wear. Mainly because I love clothes. But I think most people do. I mean, they may say they don't but they're probably not telling the whole truth. I always manage to forget to pack socks or something essential like that. It always makes me so mad. But I'm good at packing so yay me! I ought to go now. Toodles!
Okay, well this is obviously a very pathetic excuse for a blog. I hope it's not too terribly stupid. I'm trying to stay positive and that's what this is all about. Sorry I couldn't have come up with a more creative blog name. Anyways, music is amazing and umm the world is and will always be round and more people should eat tofu?

Eating ice cream makes me happy.
Why? Ice cream has to be one of the best junk foods on the planet. I love it. I also think it's really funny though. Like, watching people (especially little kids) eat it is hilarious. It tends to melt faster than you would think too. What really confuses me is how every time eat it I manage to cut my tongue. Usually on the cone but today when I had a McFlurry thing I cut myself on the spoon. I think there must be something wrong with me. Anyways, I really have to go pack for my trip tomorrow so I really can't write anymore, sorry.

Parents that don't roll their eyes make me happy.
Why? It seems to be my mom's new favorite thing to do and it's driving me up the wall. Like lets say I accidentally knock over a stack of books she'll let out this totally exaggerated sigh and she'll do the obnoxious eye rolling thing. Or the other day we were at the super market and she asked me if I wanted some smoked almonds and I said I wasn't really fond of them. She slammed them back on the shelf and sis it again. It's like, what the heck! I just said I didn't like almonds, what's the big deal? It made me really mad, like I wanted to run down the aisles of the store smashing everything. I know I probably shouldn't say stuff like that but at least I'm being honest. I'm sick of it. So yay for parents that are actually nice. (I'm not saying my mom isn't nice she can be really awesome but lately she's been a meanie.)

The fact that I'm not flying to Pittsburgh today makes me happy.
Why? Then I would be missing out on all sorts of exciting events here. I originally did want to leave early this morning though because one of my very favorite bands is having a concert there tonight. Beach House. And yeah, it's a bummer I won't be there but it's not like it's their last concert or anything. Maybe I'll get to see them some other time. But tomorrow is going to be amazing. I'm going to go to the Rosenbaum house tomorrow with Mrs. Turner and after that I'm going over to April's house and then we're going to an AYSO pool party together. Once that's done with I get to spend the night at her house. Yay! I'm very excited. On Friday I'm going to this VBS thing with her too and then Latosha and I are going back to McFarland park and we're also going to go to Funland. I think on Saturday I'm going to go see Toy Story 3 with her, my mom, Susan, and River. I hate being that busy normally, but I am leaving on the twentieth and this just makes me feel loved.

Germany makes me happy.
Why? I lived there for six months and I guess I just became very attached to it. I love the people there. Unlike Americans they don't just sit around and watch TV all day so they tend to be more fit. They have much better taste in clothes for the most part. You know, a lot of the guys there don't dress like slobs. I do think a larger ratio of them smoke and drink though. That doesn't really bother me though. I love Munich. The scenery is just breathtaking. There was a huge garden very close to my house and I used to go there all the time. My feet sort of got sore frequently from all of the walking I had to do. It didn't really bug me though, I got pretty used to it. It's so beautiful. There are cobbled streets and gorgeous old churches. I swear, I've seen some of the most incredible architecture there. I lived in a one room apartment in the airplane museum in Oberschleissheim. It was very close to a sort of palace and everyday I would walk in front of it to get to school. I loved my routine. I would eat something from the bakery in town for breakfast and leave for school. It would take me about ten minutes to walk there after class I would walk back home drop my textbooks off and walk to the train station where I would ride to Isartor, where my mom worked. It always took approximately thirty minutes to get there though. My mom worked in Der Deutsches Museum. I think she was looking at some old letters or something for them... I don't really know. I'm so glad I was able to go though. There was always so much to do. We went to at least two museums a week and we went on lots of window shopping sprees. I think I've never had that much fun in my life. The food was fantastic. I mean, I live in a small city in Alabama and everything here pretty much sucks in comparison. In Germany we had hundreds of restaurants to choose from. I think maybe the food is one of the things I miss the most. I also made some really great friends while I was there. Their names were Di, Mercedes, and Inas. Di was Chinese, Mercedes was Hungarian, and Inas was Tunisian. They were really great. Inas eventually became my best friend though. Di and Mercedes got kind of jealous and they kept on telling me lies about how Inas didn't really like me so we just stopped talking. Near the end of my stay in Germany I went to Inas's house nearly everyday. We mostly just sat around and played video games. Inas was a big fan of wrestling... I always thought that was funny because she was also really girly. Anyways, I could go on and on about things like the Oktoberfest or Die Lange Nacht der Munchner Museen. instead I think I might just make seperate posts about those two things.

Thrift stores make me happy.
Why? I have found some of the most amazing things in them before. I'm pretty sure when I was in California last summer going thrift shopping was the only thing keeping me alive. Okay, well that's probably an exaggeration but I did not enjoy myself there. I hate the suburbs. Anyways! Like I said, I've found many many cool things for great prices. Once I even found a Minolta body for just ten dollars!!! I would've gotten it but my mother made me choose between that and this awesome Samsonite from the 40s. I was already the proud owner of a Minolta so I chose the suitcase. It was my second Samsonite but the one I already had is completely different (I found the first in a thrift store as well.) I also found a Chanel purse, probably from the 80s and I adore it! I'm trying to think of some other particularly fantastic thrifty finds of mine. Oh! Once my friend April and I went on this totally epic thrift store quest a few weeks before Halloween and I found five fully functioning Polaroid cameras each for something like seventy five cents. I'm a bit of a Polaroid addict so I bought them all. We were really looking for some interesting odds and ends that we could use for costumes. She was being a ninja and I was being Pikachu. We both found some things that made our costumes simply fabulous. Sorry, I sound a bit nutty right now. Um, due to the fact that we're both somewhat small people we checked out the kid's clothing section in some stores. I found this really awesome black pleated school girl skirt that April ended up buying. I love being a smart shopper. April made an awesome ninja. I cannot wait until next Halloween. I'm being Sweeney Todd and she's going to be Mrs. Lovett. It'll be smashing. Oh, and I need some help. If you know of any good thrift stores in the Memphis or Birmingham area please tell me!!!

Giraffes make me happy.
Why? Well, they're my favorite animal! I think they're gorgeous. I decided I liked them so much when I went to Disney World last year. Umm, I do have to say I can't stand animal print though, especially those weird giraffe print purses people seem to love. Anyways, giraffes have awesome tongues, they're all blue and stuff! I don't know, I just think they're adorable. Unfortunately there isn't a zoo close to where I live and I'm pretty sure people aren't aloud to have them as pets. So never really get to see them. It's very sad. Hmm, animals are cool. I wish they could speak English. That would be amazing. I'm watching Underdog right now... I really wish I could have a super hero dog. Or better yet, a giraffe. But I'm not so sure that would work very well, they're kind of large. Well, I should probably stop typing now.

The song Flash Delirium by MGMT makes me happy.
Why? It's brilliant and insane and kind of beautiful in an odd way. It doesn't make much sense. The music is great and the lyrics are wonderful. I wish I could write something even half as decent as it. If you don't go listen to it right now I will be very disappointed. The music video for the song is amazing but kind of gross and creepy too so if you decide to watch it you should probably keep that in mind. The end of the song is the best part... By the way, the new MGMT music video for the song It's Working literally just came out and you should watch it. I don't know if it's on youtube but it's on the band's website. It's very cool, I'm watching it right now. I just paused it so it could load and I could tell you about it. So yay! Here are the lyrics for Flash Delirium (after I started talking about a different song I thought to make things clearer I out to mention that): Mild apprehension, blank dreams of the coming fun, distort the odds of a turnaround, gut screams out next to none. So turn it on, tune it in, and stay inert. You say "I've got the backbone." The back way to escape the gun. Climbing a tree with a missing limb and not saving anyone. And now it hurts to stay at home and see flash, the mirror ball's throwing mold. You can't get a grip if there's nothing to hold. See the flash catch a white lily laugh and wilt, but if you must smash a glass first fill it to the hilt. Plants, as far as i know are still, still bending toward the light. And if we dance until the heart explodes it'll make this place ignite. And even if this hall collapses I can stand by my pillar of hope it's just a case of flash delirium. Here's a growing culture deep inside a corpse. Ages stuck together takin' it to the source. Timeless desperation. Pictures on a screen scream "Hey people, what does it mean?" Comfort keeps us nice. So quick to donate everything (nothing arrives.) Die wolken drifting blinding smiles circling (einkreisen.) But times tingling spines, attaching hands to floor, the rosy-tinted flash. The hot dog's getting cold, and you'll never be as good as The Rolling Stones. Watch the birds in the airport gathering dirt. Crowd the clean magazine chick lifting up her skirt. (Why close one eye and try to pledge allegiance to the sun when plastic ghosts start terrorizing everyone. Geometric troops aligning carried up to the burial mounds. My earthbound heart is heavy, your heartbeat keeps things light with the violence forever threatening the night. And even if this hall collapses I can stand on my pillar of hope and trust.) And even if this hall collapses. Lines when I close my eyes and just aim blindly at the sun and hear love. When the ghost start singing, terrorizing everyone. Geometric troops aligning carried up to the burial mounds with gold. it's a heavy time but your rhythm makes it light and explode, like a violent star keeps threatening the night. And even if this hall collapses I can stand by my pillar of hope and trust that our heads won't bust. Six six five five red battle ships forty earthlike planets three holes two tits one fork in its side zero tears in their eyes. Sue the spiders, sink the Welsh, stab your Facebook, sell sell sell, undercooked or overdone, mass adulation not so funny, poisoned honey, pseudo science, silly money, you're my honey.

Thinking about yesterday, June the fourteenth, makes me happy.
Why? I had the most amazing time. Sorry for writing a "what happened in my life today" post. I just couldn't help it. Well, I woke up at three in the morning because I went to sleep in the middle of the afternoon. I never do that. It was nice being the only one awake again though. I didn't really work on my blog, I figured I ought to slow down my posts so that people will actually read them... Maybe. It's not like people tend to care about blogs that don't belong to them of their friends. Moving on! Once my mom woke up I made myself some scrambled eggs because I was quite hungry and I felt like acting mature for a change. They were so good! I thought I hated scrambled eggs but now I definitely don't. I put a lot of hot sauce on them and stuff. I might make some again this morning. After that I took a really nice shower, those are always really fun when living in a house that doesn't have air conditioning. I did have to go to the doctor after that. It was cool though, I got a new doctor and she's really really nice. April, if you're reading this we share the same doctor now and I started laughing really hard when I saw the same nine chairs you blogged about. Anyways, I had to get three shots though and that was kind of icky but I got really awesome Tweety Bird band aids! My mom took me to a diner afterwards to make up for getting shots. I had this massive chocolate chip waffle. It was delicious and I was actually able to eat the whole thing even though it was my second breakfast! Or I suppose you could consider it an early lunch... My mom and I went home later and she slept while I talked to friends on the dreaded Facebook. I got sort of bored doing that so I decided to cut my hair. I really like it a lot. All I did was cut it like and inch or two shorter though, so if you know me then you won't be too surprised when/if you see me in the near future. I went to McFarland Park with Latosha later and that was great because I hadn't seen any of my friends in ages. We went swimming in the river for a while and we even ran into Xena. We got kind of bored though so we decided to go see if Funland was open. What kind of sucks though is that it's open everyday from eight to eleven except for Mondays. We walked over to Miami Ice and got those weird shaved ice cone things. They were super yummy. I know this probably sounds incredibly boring but it really wasn't. Eventually our parents took us both home but not before they agreed that if we, Latosha and I, cleaned our rooms we could hang out at the park again on Friday and go to Funland. My mom and I didn't want to go home after that so we went shopping. She saw Big Lots and decided we should go there. I was kind of irritated about that because I thought it would be really really boring. Of course I was wrong and she was right though. We got two movies, a gigantic lava lamp, craft supplies, and last but not least a tacky crocodile sculpture. We didn't get the crocodiles for us though. I saw them and immediately thought of my English teacher, Mrs. Turner. I named the two crocodiles Ben and Jerry. Their favorite movie is The African Queen, Ben is the fat one and he likes Chunky Monkey ice cream the best and Jerry likes Cherry Garcia. We did the rude thing and just stopped by the Turners' house without calling. I rang the doorbell and at first no one answered. I thought someone was vacuuming, but no Mrs. T and her husband were playing Rock Band. I shouldn't have been surprised. I gave them the crocodiles and somehow my mom and I ended up staying at their house for something like two hours. We talked a lot and we watched part of this really cool dutch musical. It was mind blowing. Anyways, right before we left we all sat down and played scratch off lottery. I won twenty two dollars, that was pretty exciting. We did have to leave though and that was really uncool, in my opinion at least. My mom and I went to Ruby Tuesdays though and stuffed our faces... Not really but we did eat. We started off with these really yummy Asian Dumplings. My mom had a giant salad and I had lobster stuffed ravioli. It was delicious. After that we just came home and I pretty much ran to my bed. That's all. Sorry for boring you.

Long over the phone conversations with friends make me happy.
Why? They're so much fun and they make me feel loved. Yesterday I was bored out of my mind and I missed being able to talk to my friends everyday so I called April. We talked for like, over an hour. Twas very interesting. We mostly talked about music. No surprise there, I guess. I don't know if I can actually say this but we want to write music together... I mean, right now we don't play any instruments but we can both read music. It's never too late to try something new, right? I'm really excited about it. I've been wanting to learn how to play something since I was seven or something. Considering the fact that my dad sort of had a big influence on my life for a while (and he doesn't listen to music at all.) I don't think that's too bad. Well, I want to learn how to play the piano. I would have started a long time ago but I don't exactly have anything to experiment with. I'd also like to eventually learn how to play guitar. Um, I feel sort of stupid talking about this but you know, at least I'm not being fake. April wants to play drums and then eventually bass. We're weird indie pop loving folks so this shouldn't be too surprising, actually. Hm, we also talked about how annoying the fact that you can't block people on blogger is. And soccer, we talked about that too. April also has a new pair of favorite socks. I swear, there must be something wrong with her. Anyone who laughs all the way through Sweeney Todd is demented in my opinion. I don't know. That's all I guess.
Chandeliers make me happy.
Why? I just love how they catch light. They look sort of like small crystal constellations from heaven. Well, maybe not heaven, I sort of have no idea what it looks like there. If it does in fact exist. When I think of chandeliers I think of rain. And Pink Floyd. Because of that weird little crystal pyramid thing. I also think of Crystal Castles and Vampire Weekend. I don't know. Maybe when I'm a grown up kid that lives in Brooklyn I'll have a huge chandelier in my apartment along with a turntable. That would be wicked. I think I kind of made that sound mystical or whatever, it's really not though. I just like chandeliers and that's that.

Donnie Darko makes me happy.
Why? It's a wonderful film. I love how every time I watch it I notice something else new about it. There all sorts of little details in it that people don't normally notice when watching it for the first time. It's one of my very favorite movies. The cast is great. I like it when Jake Gyllenhaal actually plays normal people. Like, I can't watch Prince of Persia because it would ruin Donnie Darko for me. And Brokeback Mountain. He's cooler without all of the weird biceps and whatnot. And for those of you who don't know the girl that played his little sister, Daveigh Chase, acted in a sort of sequel to the movie. It wasn't written or directed by the same guys so it's really just inspired by the first film. It's called S. Darko. I like it a lot because it's really smart. And I love basically anything even remotely related to Donnie Darko.

The song Old Man by Neil Young makes me happy.
Why? Well, first of all, I'm a pretty big Neil Young fan. He's cool. I also like the lyrics. It's a song that's actually about something. Not that most songs aren't. I'm just saying... I don't think it has any hidden meanings. It is quite depressing though. It still does make me happy, just in a weird way. I would put the lyrics in this, but I only trust song booklets and I don't have one for that song. Sorry folks. Just go listen to it or something. I bet you've already heard it.

Easy Mac makes me happy.
Why? It's really good and the perfect dinner for stormy nights. I do have to argue with it's name though. It's not very easy to make well. No matter how hard I try, whenever I make it myself it tastes nasty. I really like that weird cheese dinosaur from the commercials though. He's cute. I need to set up a play date with him and my cats for something.... Hopefully my cats wouldn't try to devour him though. That would be bad. I have a feeling the company could sue me for that. Or sue my mom actually.

Crayons make me happy.
Why? Crayolas have the coolest names. They're perfect. I love how childish pictures look when drawn with them. They are pure bliss. I just wish they didn't break all the time. Then they would be perfect-er. Shut up, I know that's not a real word, I honestly don't care. It's also really fun to melt them with other colors to make rainbow crayons. I did that in daycare once. The other kids and I chose colors and we put them in Reeses cup shells and then the lady that watched us put them in the oven for us. Mine was really pretty. It was really hard to color pictures with though.

Fridge magnets make me happy.
Why? They're fun. I wrote a story about one in English class this year. Here's the story, it's kind of ridiculous but please try not to laugh at me: Mighty Y and the Monster Tarantula. The day the exterminator came, Taylor, the monster tarantula, was hiding in a stale box of Peanut Butter Cap'n Crunch Cereal. As soon as the horrific pest killer had left the residence, taylor slowly crept out of his stuffy box. Marla's kitchen was in a bleak state as the spider made his way over to the fridge crowded with all sorts of magnets. In the meantime, the alphabet letters were continuing on with their daily activities of chattering, arm wrestling, and snoozing very soundly... All except for Y who had been carelessly stuck on the otherwise empty left side of the fridge watching Seinfield. With no one at all to comfort him, he became very lonely. Taylor payed little attention to him as he began to conjure up a plan to devour all of the magnets. Soon, the letters started to disappear one by one and the monster tarantula got fatter and fatter. In the course of half an hour, Y was the only one left. Taylor hobbled over to the chartreuse letter, ready to munch him all up. Excited with his new company, Y started up a conversation with the peculiar figure. Taylor was so bloated after his alphabet buffet that he didn't even bother to shut him up. "Hello, I hate to be so rude, but who - err, what are you?" Y inquired. "I am Taylor, the monster tarantula from the bottomless pits of peanut butter cereal," he replied. "Okay," Y said as if that was the most ordinary answer he could possibly have received. "Do you like Seinfield?" "Nah, I'm more of an I Love Lucy kind of guy," Taylor stated. Y asked with a troubled look on his face, "Why have you been eating everyone?" "I was bored, and why do you care? They never talked to you," Taylor sighed. "They are my family though; and I think it would be a healthy decision for you to spit them all out this very instant," the letter demanded. With a bit of convincing, the tarantula did just that, and upon Marla's return from the supermarket, the entire alphabet told her what had taken place in her absence. Marla gave Y and Taylor premium TV watching conditions. From that point on, the two oddballs were best friends.

My cat's dysfunctional tail makes me happy.
Why? If I step on it he doesn't flip out or anything because he can't feel it. And that makes me feel less guilty when I do. He tends to get in the way a lot. He's very lovable though... Usually. He bites me a lot. I think he's a vampire in training. His name is Sergeant Pepper. I'm very proud of myself for coming up with that. I have another cat named George. But he's named after George Washington. Not Harrison. Everyone thinks me and my mom are cat-crazed Beatles fans. And, well, we sort of are but we aren't as obsessed as everyone seems to think.

Belting out song lyrics while playing air guitar and jumping around makes me happy.
Why? It's entertaining, dimwit. Why'd ya have to ask? Haha, sorry I had to do that. I like being silly. I also like getting really into music that means a lot to me. So I tend to do the whole hardcore head banging thing when I'm in my room. Alone. I don't mind doing it around April, she'd just join in with me. I think a lot of people do that though. Like seriously, if you do it you should comment saying so on this or something. I really want to know if it's just me and my psychotic friends.

The fact that I drink tea daily makes me happy.
Why? I like in the bible belt. I may be the only person in the south that drinks real tea more than iced tea. I love it. When I was in California last summer I drank tea four to eight times a day. It made me pee a lot but it was good. I had this Swedish raspberry tea. I was quite attached to it. Lately I've been drinking Earl Grey, another one of my favorites. No sugar with lots of milk. It tastes the best that way. I love how odd I am. I mean... I'm pretty normal but so is everybody. Umm I'm weird but I'm not at the same time. Anyway, drink tea. Thumbs up for those of you who already do.

Boredom makes me happy.
Why? When I have absolutely nothing worth while to do I can get very creative. Being bored isn't something that really happens to me. Not anymore at least. I always have something to think about. you know, I've gotta keep my train of thought going. That's why I don't really like sleeping. And when I sleep and I don't dream then I'm even more upset about it. Anyway, being "bored" is very fun.

French sodas make me happy.
Why? They're delicious... But evil. My mom and I bought some the other day when we were shopping at Aldi because it looked good. I wanted to have some this morning so I opened it carefully because I didn't want to spill it all over the place. Nothing happened and I was really surprised because it would've been really odd if it had gone flat before I had even opened it. After about six seconds then thing exploded and I got sweet lemony white fizz all over my kitchen. It was one of the greatest drinks I've ever had though.

Children's books about castles and dragons make me happy.
Why? They're totally epic!!! They're really unrealistic though. I mean, come on the youth today has changed. Little boys don't want happy endings. They want blood and gore. And as for girls? They don't care about books unless they have to do with beautiful barbie-esque women. You know, ditsy big-boobed blond airheads. They're growing up too fast. I miss reading about Custard the Cowardly Dragon. Kids just don't get it now. Sorry, this post doesn't make a lot of sense. I think?

The song 4th Dimensional Transition by MGMT makes me happy.
Why? It's completely breathtaking. The music is so trippy, like seriously I've never done acid or anything but that's what it makes me think of. It's fast but the song is spoken slowly. I doubt that makes much sense though. You really must listen to it. I love the lyrics. Here they are: I feel your racing heart. My liquid silver arms extended. These waves aren't far apart. Black gold in clawfoot tubs. Unchanging. I am fine. Where's my form? Whisper crimson. I intrude. There's light beneath your eyes, new over tones in view. Endless form, endless time. If what they say is true you are a shadow in fourth dimension. To float away with you. We see the corners where nothing happens. While we drifted we were one. Ceilings lifted, walls were gone. You speak the language of the breeze. All your leaves were meant for me. The love that every person wants to be. Stuck together, I don't like revealing secrets. I'd live inside your lips if you won't laugh. My heaving hands are rotten fruit at last. Fallow fingers there's a surface I can count on. She'd fit inside my heart and take it over 'til her cape got blown into my red, red lungs. Either there's a purpose or I'm heading out. At breakfast take a drink, take a drag, one more coffee. Ugly hat. No more mirror. Woolen bag and I am gone.

Venetian masks make me happy.
Why? They're just so sexy. This year my school had a black and white masquerade ball. It was pretty awesome. I was sort of irritated with all of the people that didn't show up in proper dress though. Actually, I had a pretty crappy time. The music was horrible, since when did people play rap and country music during balls. Ugh, I despise living in the south. My dress was sort of short and my friend;s mom made me feel incredibly paranoid about it. So by the time I got there I was ready to leave. I also kind of got lost and my friends kept on moving around so I was moping around by myself for a large chunk of the dance. Oh, and get this when I was hungry I couldn't go to the stupid snack table thing because my algebra teacher was working there and she hates me. I hid from her the whole time. The idea of it was fantastic though. After the ball me and some friends went to pizza hut and had a jolly good time.

Thinking about what it would be like to have a pet spider monkey makes me happy.
Why? I don't even know what they are. They might not even exist. The thought of it is just so absurd. I don't like monkeys though. Or spiders for that matter. They're both kind of gross. I mean, I love animals and everything I just love some less than others. Spiders give me the creeps. I don't really have a problem with monkeys though. I just hate them in cartoons and whatnot. They're always butt-faces. Sorry, I just made myself sound like a total idiot.

Psychedelic beach towels make me happy.
Why? I have one and it may or may not be the coolest thing I own. It's ginormous and it has all of these wacky multi-colored fishes and plants. It's simply gorgeous to say the least. I really like all of the different types of coral on it. But now that I think about it it's kind of weird. It's like whenever I'm using it I'm drying myself off on the ocean. Which doesn't make a lot of sense. It kind of reminds the of how stupid it is that in Spongebob people drink water out of glasses even though it's all around them. Ah well, I like my beach towel. Everyone should have one just like mine. But life's not fair so that's not going to happen.

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs make me happy.
Why? Their music is really different. I envy Karen O. You have no idea how much I wish I could be her. I mean, I want to be talented and I would love to go to Julliard. Um, I'm pretty sure that's where she went. I don't really feel like double checking so you'll just have to shoot me or something if I'm wrong. Anyways, if you've never really listened to them before you really should go do that, like right now please.

Grapefruit flavored foods and drinks make me happy.
Why? They hurt my tongue because they're always so sour. Once I took a handful of grapefruit Ice Breakers and I put them all in my mouth at the same time. It hurt so much I started crying. But I really like the flavor. Grapefruit Jones sodas are the bomb. I haven't had one in centuries though. Crap, now I'm dying to have one. Hey, did you know that eating citrus fruits and taking Tylenol simultaneously is supposed to be really bad for your stomach. I guess it has to do with all of the acid or something. Hm, I'm trying to think of more delectable grapefruit treats. I can't really think of any so never mind I guess. Grapefruits taste yummy slathered in sugar. I used to eat them for breakfast sometimes. I'm kind of under the impression that that's not so healthy though. Oh well, it's not like I was eating ice cream or something.

Latosha Armstead makes me happy.
Why? She's one of my coolest friends and she is the strangest person I know. She asks really inappropriate questions constantly and she has a wonderful laugh. Sometimes it seems like she changes her mind every five seconds. She's great. I also love her taste in music. She listens to basically everything and that's pretty cool. Like, I wish I liked all music, it would make my life about ten times easier. She's just lots of fun to hang out with. She can also be really sweet sometimes but she's always honest.

Gramophone records, also referred to as vinyl, make me happy.
Why? They're way cooler than CDs. Unfortunately I don't own a turntable so I don't listen to them. Hopefully when I'm all cool and grown up I will though. But of course I won't really be a grown up... I kind of want to do the Peter Pan thing and be a kid at heart for forever. Anyways, I think it would be wicked if someone made a portable record player. My mom said that that wasn't possible, but I like believing that anything is possible. So I'm not listening to her. This is somewhat awkward now. Anyways, cool kids listen to vinyl. I don't so I'm not a cool kid, but you probably already knew that.

Falling asleep while listening to my favorite song on repeat makes me happy.
Why? Because then I get it stuck in my head and I can usually hear it in my dream, if I happen to be having a dream that is. I do it all the time. occasionally I do wake up at like, two in the morning because of it though, which isn't too much fun. My headphones also kind of hurt my ears if I wear them for too long too. Thank God for iPods! I don't know what I would do without mine. I practically idolize it. I suppose I should also thanks "Santa" for getting it for me. So, thank you Santa, you're a life saver!!!

The fact that I'm fourteen and I just learned how to whistle properly makes me happy.
Why? I've never been able to whistle before and now I can. I've been deprived of whistling for nearly and decade and a half. It's really awesome. I can whistle along to like, I don't know, Neil young songs or something. Next up on my list of things to learn? Cartwheels. I feel like I'm in day-care all over again.

I just cleaned my room, that makes me happy.
Why? I've been meaning to do it for quite sometime now and it really didn't take me that long at all. My mom also told me that when I cleaned my room she would take all of my film and get it developed. Yay! I'm sort of tired now though. i haven't slept in a while.

Houses with air conditioning make me happy.
Why? My house hates me. In January my heater broke and now it's June and my air conditioner is broken. It's been torture. Thank god I'm going to be living in a dorm next year. I'm sweating like a pig right now. Sorry for being gross. But that's life for ya.

The fact that I'm currently wearing a bright pink tie-dye bandana tied around my head makes me happy.
Why? I think it's cool. But my hair is sort of puffy and I probably look like a total idiot. Oh well, I'm home alone so there's no one hear to laugh at me. So yay! Or not, being laughed at can be quite amusing. Haaa wow. I just made me mum listen to Passion Pit. Today has been quite nice so far. Too bad I missed out on Bonnaroo. My mom said she would only take me if Bruce Springsteen went. She was all like, everyone there now sucks, they have all of these hip-hop people so I don't want to go. She's just mad that she didn't go in 2009 when Springsteen was actually there. I'm mad I didn't go in 2008 when MGMT was there. Urg.... I need to talk someone into taking me to Lollapaloosa. I'm in desperate need of listening to live music. I've only ever been to one 'real' concert. Metric and Band of Skulls, it was pretty wicked but my mom started crying in the middle of the show because her baby was growing up. I hope I'll never be able to relate to that. I don't want children to ruin music for me. Wooh, I got pretty off topic there. I want to have a lame colorful bandana-as-headwear party. That would be awesome, I mean, literally nobody would come.

Why? They're cozy and hideous. Just perfect for me. I do think they look cool with acid wash skinny jeans though.

Being friends with ex-boyfriends makes me happy.
Why? It's nice talking to guys that I know for a fact don't have feelings for is nice. Unless they get all weird and start going on and on and on about their gorgeous new babes. It's annoying when ANYONE does that. Sheesh. My first boyfriend wants to give me his old keyboard now. I love keyboards. I love guys when they aren't being total dimwits.

The movie Sixteen Candles makes me happy.
Why? I can really relate to the main character. It's about a girl who is really excited about her sweet sixteen. Unfortunately for her, no one, not even her parents remembered her birthday. Only two of my friends remembered my birthday last year. I actually thought it was quite amusing though because then everyone felt bad about it. Ahh well, the movie is just really funny.

Headphones make me happy.
Why? I think they're better for people's ears than earphones. They also look like, twenty billion times cooler. I love surround sound and most earphones don't have it. Headphones look pretty freakin' cool too. Not the weird girly ones though. I'm talking about the ones that are in school computer labs and WeSC. I have some but they're Roxy ones and I really don't like them. They have weird curly vine things and they're turquoise and lime green. Not cool. I mean if I was a seventeen year old dude I would be all over them, but I'm a girl so they're just icky.

The show Ugly Betty makes me happy.
Why? It was so much fun! I admit it, I've wasted many many hours of my life watching Betty grow. I'm so sad it was just recently canceled. I mean, I get it, most americans are into football and straight guys treating women like crap. I loved all of the gay guys in the show and every character was so believable. The acting was simply amazing. The series finale made me very happy though. I don't think it could've ended any better.

People that laugh during Phi Kappa Phi induction ceremonies make me happy.
Why? I had to go to two this year. One was quite normal and boring but I got to wear a really pretty dress from Thailand. It was odd though because a few people asked me what I was majoring in. I don't think I look old enough to be in college so I'm guessing the ladies that asked me weren't wearing their glasses or something. Anyway, the second one I went to was hilarious. It was a smaller ceremony within the art department. I was standing next to one of my mother's colleagues. We could not stop laughing about how completely ridiculous the speech was. I felt so bad but you know, I wasn't the first one to start laughing. And no one seemed to really mind.

Elizabeth Ronilo makes me happy.
Why? For two years straight she has made eighth period bearable. She's one of my best friends and we have really interesting conversations. She also has great taste in books, movies, men, and vampires. (Sorry Lizzy, I had to say that.) She's just a super awesome person. And might I say she throws the best parties!!! Sometimes I think she knows me better than I know myself. I knew she was cool from the moment I heard her talking about how much she wished she had some thigh high converses. You know, like the shoes. Lizzy is just kind of weird and I love her to death for it.

The song Walcott by Vampire Weekend makes me happy.
Why? I can really understand it. Like the lyrics. They mean something to me. There's quite a bit of cursing for Paul Simon-esque music too. Here are the lyrics: Walcott, don't you know that it's insane? Don't you want to get out of Cape Cod? Out of Cape Cod tonight. Walcott, mystic seaport. Is that the way, don't you know that your life could be lost? Out of Cape Cod tonight. Walcott, the bottleneck is a shit-show. Hyannisport is a ghetto. Out of Cape Cod tonight. The lobster's claw is sharp as knives, Evil feasts on human lives. The Holy Roman Empire roots for you. Walcott, all the way to New Jersey , all the way to The Garden State. Out of Cape Cod tonight. Walcott, fuck the women from Wellfleet, fuck the bears out in Provincetown. Heed my words and take flight.

The album Oracular Spectacular makes me happy.
Why? It's weird. Sorry for all of my ranting about MGMT. And don't get me wrong, their new album Congratulations makes me just as happy, I think I like it more than Oracular Spectacular but I don't feel like talking about it so much. I want to discuss the first song on the album, Time to Pretend. The music for this song was inspired by a pet praying mantis. No joke. It died and laid eggs and the band members put them on this model ship that the little baby bugs eventually ended up tearing apart. They also liked to listen to The Clash. The lyrics are joking about becoming a famous rock star. At the end of the song they're talking about dying by choking on their own vomit. Here are the lyrics: I'm feeling rough, I'm feeling raw. I'm in the prime of my life. Lets make some music, make some money, find some models for wives. I'll move to Paris, shoot some heroin, and fuck with the stars. You man the island and the cocaine and the elegant cars. This is our decision to live fast and die young. We've got the vision now let's have some fun. Yeah, it's overwhelming but what else can we do? Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute? Forget about our mothers and our friends, we're fated to pretend. I'll miss the playgrounds and the animals and digging up worms. I'll miss the comfort of my mother and the weight of the world. I'll miss my sister, miss my father, miss my dog, and my home. Yeah, I'll miss the boredom and the freedom and the time spent alone. But there is really nothing, nothing we can do. Love must be forgotten. Life can always start off anew. The models will have children, we'll get a divorce. We'll find some more models. Everything must run its course. We'll choke on our vomit and that will be the end. We were fated to pretend.

Going to concerts makes me happy.
Why? Concerts are the most amazing things. I've only ever been to one "real" one though. It was Metric and Band of Skulls, I'm ninety percent sure I've already mentioned that on here though, so you'll just have to bear with me folks. I will be going to a lot more this summer though. I mean, I was talking to my aunt, Sylvia, about how much I loved music and she told me that she wanted to take me to some concerts. Haha, then I told her about this MGMT concert in Oakland when we'll (the we is referring to me and some of my family, in case you hadn't figured that out already) be at Lake Tahoe. She got really excited about it because apparently my uncle is a big fan of them too. So you guys better keep your fingers crossed for me! I'm so stoked. By the way, you should blame Latosha for saying stoked around me so much that now I use it as well.

Salami makes me happy.
Why? It's basically the only meat product I'm actually fond of. It's salty and unhealthy and delectable. Besides salami I try to stay as far away from meat as possible. It's all my mother's fault, when we were in Germany for the first time together she got me addicted to cold cuts. Alas, if it wasn't for salami I could be a vegan without much trouble. So maybe I don't like it too much. I don't know, it's annoying.

Soccer makes me happy.
Why? I've played it for six years now. I like defense and midfield the best, not that that little bit of information really matters to you. It's incredibly entertaining and a lot of my friends play it too. I honestly hate watching it though, it's just as boring as can be. It makes me wish I was the one playing, you know. Besides soccer I absolutely despise sports though... Ick, football. Well, whoever you are you should watch The World Cup. Yesterday it was a tie between London and the United States, just so you know.

Fan art makes me happy.
Why? It's a beautiful way fans can show musicians how much they care about their work. I was really thinking about it because on the MGMT website you can submit fan art that will then be used as a background for the website. I think it's a really great idea. Sorry for obsessing, I just really love MGMT, mkay. It's sort of annoying I guess. But most people do stuff like that. I mean, Amberleigh sort of obsesses over Escape the Fate and April really really loves Hellogoodbye. Anyways, the point is fan art is one of the coolest things ever.

Playlists make me happy.
Why? They're loads of fun to make and listen too. They also help me share my music with my friends. I really like listening to other people's playlists as well. I mean, unless they have completely dreadful taste in music. But most of my friends don't, so yay. I was actually going to post one of mine to the side bar thing but it came off of the edge and it looked quite odd. Oh well, I enjoyed making it. I really do need to start listening to some new music though. So if you have any recommendations please just leave a comment on this or something. Thanks!

Cheerios make me happy.
Why? It's like the classic cereal and it's delicious but not necessarily very bold. It really does have a kind of boring flavor but so do bagels and I also think those are scrumptious. My grandfather also used to eat them in chocolate milk. I miss him and Cheerios remind me of him. He was cool. It also has a terribly awesome name.

Polyvore makes me happy.
Why? It's this really awesome website that I like to go on to make sort of photo collages. It's also a fashion website, but it's not exactly girly. If you're a guy you probably wouldn't like it though. I like making 'sets' inspired by music. I've been using it for one year, two months, and thirteen days now. It's quite fun and I really enjoy it. I'm sort of on a Polyvore break right now. I just worked on it for a really long time and I have sort of lost most of my inspiration.

Vintage Samsonite suitcases make me happy.
Why? They're beautiful! I have two. One large sky blue hard sided suitcase from the 70s and one small caramel hard sided ex-makeup case from the 40s. I love them both so much. Unfortunately I can't really use the blue one when I have to get in airplanes. I did once and after it had been hand checked the people at the airport didn't close it right and it was open during the whole flight. I'm a good packer though so nothing fell out. I was very proud.

Lush makes me happy.
Why? Well first of all, for those of you that don't already know, Lush is a brand of super cool bath products. They make all organic and sometimes vegan soaps, shampoos, and bath bombs. Their stuff is really cool and it smells incredible. They also give their items really fun names. I love their seasonal products too, like during christmas I bought a really yummy type of lip balm called Let Them Eat Cake. I'm a die hard Happy Hippie fan though. It's this really great citrus-y shower gel. They also just recently made it vegan. I'm a sucker for animal friendly anything.

My sketch book makes me happy.
Why? It's full of a bunch of really bad doodles. It also used to be my mom's and that makes it special. I like to imagine what would happen if I became a famous artist. And, I mean, that won't ever happen because I suck at art stuff. Just visual art stuff, though. I do like how bad drawings look so it doesn't upset me too much. So my sketch book is cool in my opinion.
